Why is Shakeology so expensive?

The number one question I get regarding Shakeology is “But it’s $129.95 per month! That’s EXPENSIVE! How can I afford that?!”

Recently, I saw someone post that the reason they don’t eat healthy is because it costs too much.

I never understand why everyone assumes you have to be rich to maintain a healthy diet & lifestyle.

The other day I left the grocery store with 8 bags (only 1 contained non-food items). Every food item was all natural, unprocessed (I bought organic if there was the option) and met my clean-eating-requirements. Total: $115.

Recently, someone said “I would LOVE to try Shakeology®. I would if I had money like you!!”
I asked her what she was referring to. She said “It’s too expensive unless you are getting fat hook ups or not paying full price there’s no way to afford it!”

Do you believe that too?
Have you done your research on the ingredients or health benefits?
Or did you just assume you couldn’t afford it and give up?
Did you do the math and break down the cost per serving?
Have you taken a look at your budget?
I have a friend who took a look at what she was spending on her hair, nails, meals out and even was in the middle of foreclosure, but believed so much in what Shakeology® could do for her, that she MADE it work and 2 years later she’s still drinking it daily!

My friend and personally sponsored coach and member of TEAM RELENTLESS Ashley Mel posted this in my new 30 day Shakeoology Challenge Group the other day “I was skeptical about it at first. I didn’t see the need to spend $130 a month on, what I thought was just a weight loss shake. Then Mindy educated me and I did my research. I even tried to find reasons why not to buy and I could not find any. Now it’s my favorite meal of the day. I have been drinking Shakeology for less than a month (26 days to be exact) and I’ve already lost 8 lbs. I started off at 178.4 and now I’m at 170.4.”

FACT: Shakeology can save your life by preventing preventable disease and illness.
MYTH: Shakeology is an overpriced Slim Fast or alternative to Kellog’s Special K Protein Drinks, Carnation Good Start, or Muscle Milk with anything. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or price tag!

Have you done the math on how much it will cost to combat disease or illness in the future?

The answer: It’s not as expensive as you think

Let’s talk SOLUTIONS.

Here are a few ways for you to be able to “afford” Shakeology.

1. Sign up as a coach and get the discount. It’s $97.46. Plus, save on shipping if you order it on HD (Home Direct = Auto Shipments) You save $32.46 on your Shakeology, plus around $10 on shipping (no including the $15.05 monthly coach’s fee) and breaks it down to $3.25per day, cheaper than a Happy Meal at McDonald’s.

2a. Use coupons. Here are some resources for coupons: Sunday newspapers,www.moneysavingmom.com<http://www.moneysavingmom.com/>,www.southernsavers.com<http://www.southernsavers.com/>,www.coupons.com<http://www.coupons.com/>,www.smartsource.com<http://www.smartsource.com/>. and google “Krazy Koupon Lady” in addition to the Hot Coupon World forums. If you use coupons regularly you can save about $25-35.00 per week.

2b. Combine coupons and sales to maximize your savings in 2a.

3. When making food, make it yourself from scratch instead of buying prepackaged, processed food. This will not only be cheaper but healthier.

4. Substitute your expensive meal of the day with Shakeology. Forget those $5.00-15.00 lunches or dinners out with coworkers and friends at restaurants or even your workplace’s cafeteria.

5. Make fewer trips out. Instead of taking several trips to the store to buy a few items here or there, make a master errands list to be completed for the day and save money on gas. Plus you’ll have extra TIME to do other things with those other days of the week!

6. Prepare meals ahead of time and freeze instead of going out to eat fast food or restaurant food. Again, this saves your wallet and your health. Google “Once a month cooking” to get a better idea of what this involves. You can also do “once a week cooking” or “Once every 2 weeks cooking.” Just cater to your family’s needs.

7. Make your own cleaners from household goods. Use vinegar and other household supplies to create your own detergents and cleaners. Not only does this save money, but it’s better for the environment.

8. Brown bag your lunch to work. If you want to drink your Shakeology for another meal, bring your lunch to work from home. Again, this saves you money that you won’t be spending at the workplace cafeteria or restaurant.

9. Stop drinking soda, and drink more water. Soda is ridiculously expensive and has nothing but sugar and chemicals. Drink water. Your body craves it and needs it anyway, and it’s essentially FREE. When I started drinking Shakeology, I actually stopped craving Diet Coke & Coffee

10. Use the groceries that you have in your pantry, freezer, and refrigerator before going out to buy more food or going out to eat.

11. Consign your old clothing or children’s items instead of just throwing them away or donating them. I do this and usually get back about $100-200/season just on old toys and clothes the kids can’t wear anymore.

12. Have a yard sale the first weekend of the month. We do this twice per year and net between $200-600 each time.

13. Stop using your credit card and go to an all cash envelope system. Google “Dave Ramsey Total Money Makeover” for more info.

14. Purchase foods (that you’ll use) in bulk such as nuts, dried fruit, grains, snacks, cereal, spices, and baking ingredients.

15. Set a jar out. Deposit loose change and extra money to set aside to cover your costs to start Shakeology. Or do what I recommended to someone – Everytime you are tempted to go spend money on an expensive coffee or on something that will keep you from reaching your health/fitness/weight loss goals, out the money in the jar instead. (She found that she had the money in 2 weeks to purchase something she thought she couldn’t afford.)

You will actually save money by replacing many nutritional supplements with just one shake a day. By using Shakeology as a meal replacement, which breaks down to around $4 a shake, you actually save money. The average person spends between $5-$9 on a meal, sometimes more, so by replacing a meal with your Shakeology daily, you will save money, plus, receive more nutrients than even your healthiest meal. That’s a win-win situation. Think of it this way, you can’t look at it as $129.95 on top of what you’re already spending, but $120 replacing what you’re already spending at the grocery store. Remember, you’re replacing an entire meal with Shakeology and therefore don’t have to purchase the groceries for those meals. Plus, if you would actually purchase all the foods necessary to get the same amount of nutrients and vitamins that are in Shakeology, you would be spending quite a bit more than the cost of Shakeology. It makes sense!

I found this testimonial interesting:

“The best thing about Shakeology is it saves my family about $500 a month on our food bill. We have a credit card just for food and it was always around $1,000 a month. Since we started drinking Shakeology our bill is around $500. We no longer buy snacks or junk food—we just make a shake. I didn’t think at first we would be able to afford it but now we can’t live without it.”

This was a shelf at Central Market in Austin. Over half of these items are included in the list of 70 SUPER FOODS contained in Shakeology.

Do you see the price tags on these items?

So many people seem to think that their own home-concoction is better & cheaper than Shakeology which can be purchased for $3-4/serving!

To understand the value of Shakeology watch the Tony Horton value videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwgaeGBvm4c&list=PLDX5NE0cpl4830H_WzRf_rLqoHdNUWHUE&index=7

It’s amazing to me how so many people say “I’m broke! I can’t afford that!” and then write off ever possibly attaining it. Sometimes people even end up convincing themselves that a it is a horrible thing, not because they did their research and have any proof. Their opinion is solely based on the fact that they can’t have it and are pissed if someone else can.

It’s funny to me how some people claim to be broke when it comes to the important things. But yet you see them with their hair did, nails did, frequently eating out, frequenting the bar, shopping – living way out of their means if they are supposedly “broke”.

I’ve found that too many people live paycheck to paycheck.
I’ve found that most people will find the way to get something that they really want.
I’ve found that most people will only buy something that gives them instant gratification.
I’ve found that most people will spend money on things that outwardly make you look & feel better TEMPORARILY.

People often MISTAKINGLY try to compare Shakeology to products on the market, such as Whey Protein, Muscle Milk, Carnation Good Start, or other “protein shakes”. Shakeology is NOT just a protein shake (it is a good source of protein, but it is so much more).

Ryan Hord looked at the price of a Muscle Milk the other day when we were at the store. The price tag said it was $3.29.

Did you know that, that is actually  MORE than what ONE serving of Shakeology® costs when you are a coach?

I am not knocking Muscle Milk, because I have drank it and it didn’t taste that bad BUT it also doesn’t deliver the same HEALTH benefits as Shakeology, nor does it contain 70 whole, nutrient dense ingredients that are PROVEN to help improve your immune system and help you improve health conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, intestinal issues, thyroid issues and improve your mental clarity.

It always bugs the crap outta me when people make uneducated statements about Shakeology based on assumptions. It always annoys me when people publicly post information comparing Shakeology to other shakes on the market (shakes that often don’t have the same goal in mind for their customers so really shouldn’t be compared. Just like in UFC or boxing. Just because two people fight or box doesn’t mean they’re in the same class or should go up against one another.) I haven’t had the time to research all the other shakes on the market, marketed for improved health and weight loss, but I can tell you that 21 months later I still remain a loyal Shakeology customer because nothing I’ve found contains anywhere near the same 70 ingredients or has proven to deliver the same benefits. Some in the past however have asked me about the meal replacement shake: Raw Meal. From what research I’ve done I did like the fact that it doesn’t contain any artificial ingredients, only organic.

I actually laid my eyes on a canister a few weeks back. 1 canister costs $41.99. 1 canister provides 14 servings. So if you do the math, like most people do who are truly committed to sticking to their budget and financial goals – the cost per serving comes out to $2.99 per serving PLUS tax.

So I’m not knocking this product because I do find that it’s creator cares about providing something that promotes health, by omitting artificial ingredients and marketing a QUICK fixed to only lose weight.

What I am illustrating is that the cost per serving is only $0.26 cents less than Shakeology. And I wonder, does it come with a 30 day money back guarantee if you don’t like the way it tastes or it doesn’t deliver results that get you closer to your goals?

Most people select an option that fits their budget or what they think something should cost.

So before you quickly cast aside the idea that you could ever afford this – break out your calculator, abacus or finger and toes and do the math. Do your research. Ask a coach questions. Take a look at what you spend your money on. How much do you spend on fast food, cigarettes, alcohol, hair, nails, coffee & impulse purchases a month??

I have observed the costs of other “Shakes” on the market, which deliver less results and cost more than Shakeology at a coach’s cost.

Everyday, countless people walk thru the doors ofGNC Live Well, health food stores or stand in front of the “health food” aisle at their local grocery store, scanning the shelves of protein or “meal replacement” shakes. Their decision is usually based on the following:- price vs. quality over quantity- convenience (instant gratification – you walk in, you walk out vs. having to order and wait for it to be delivered- what is written in BRIGHT, BIG, BOLD letters on the front vs. the ingredient list on the back- something they read in a magazine or saw on The Dr. Oz Show (Do remember Television Show hosts and celebrities get PAID to promote these things. It doesn’t mean that it is exactly their opinion. Anyone remember Oprah promoting her love for the Microsoft Surface from an iPad? Case in point)I wonder if all these people realize that the moment they walk out the door with that purchase, ready and full of EXCITEMENT at the prospect of finally losing those extra pounds, feeling better than they ever had and one day looking just like that hot bodied person stamped on the front of that tub of powder they’re holding that there is one BIG difference, that makes ALL the difference than if they had of purchasedShakeology® thru a coach???What is the difference? They are COMPLETELY all on their own!!!!!!!Their purchase simply supported the growth of a LARGE company, that’s vision is based solely on numbers & retaining your money, not whether or not you succeed. Their products are produced in mass quantities and they market to attack those who want instant gratification with little to no thought or hard work put in.No one from that company is going to check in on you, provide support and encouragement when you are feeling down, cheer you on when you reach a goal or provide assistance and help answer your questions to help you understand health, fitness and clean eating. Why am I different?I faithfully use the programs. I have done P90X3,Les Mills Pump, Les Mills Combat, Body Beast,Brazil Butt Lift, 3 rounds of Beachbody Ultimate Reset and am currently doing 21 Day Fix. I also own 10 Minute Trainer, Power 90®, P90X2, Hip Hop Abs, ChaLEAN Extreme®, TurboFire, Focus T25 – Focus on You, @Insanity: Insanity The Asylum and RevAbs™.Not only do I drink Shakeology EVERYDAY, but so does my husband, 3 children and 2 step children.I don’t just sell the products, I am a product of the product. My story and my body is a living testimony that the products work.I attend every single corporate event offered by Beachbody within driving distance and every trip offered where I receive an abundance of training to help make me a better person and coach everyone I help profits from. When you DECIDE to COMMIT I help you to SUCCEED. I am with you from that very first moment you start “thinking about it”, when you scan the “shelves” of Beachbody, when you actually click on PLACE ORDER. I become part of your life, part of your journey. I will even take you shopping, help you create meal plans, and most importantly I will become one of your biggest fans and best friends. I am the one who will text you, call you, email you to check on you for FREE. The only thing I want is for you to SUCCEED. All I expect is your friendship and honesty in return.Tell me, where else can you get that?

Before you write off anything, do your research of what you are getting. Educate yourself, so you can make an educated decision.

There’s a reason a Kia Rio costs much less than a Lamborghini and a Filet Mignon costs more than ground beef

Instead of asking how much it costs, ask “How much value will it bring to my life!”

Listen to what one of the coach’s on my team has to say about the expense of Shakeology:

Someone recently asked me what was that funky looking stuff I was drinking. Vanilla Shakeology I said, it’s REALLY good. I have it everyday blended with a banana. So do the kids. I’ve been drinking ShakeO off and on for the past 2 years and everyday the last 4 months. I’ve stopped drinking coffee daily and no longer crave sweets (and boy did I ever have a sweet tooth). I feel better and combined with clean eating and exercise, I’ve so far lost 16 lbs! Woohoo! Expensive someone asked. Well I guess it all depends on how you look at it. Yes, monthly it is a little over $120 a bag BUT remember I was getting a venti breve with vanilla daily at almost $5 a cup. You do the math. $5 x 30 days = well over what a bag of ShakeO costs. Plus the random trips to the store or DQ to feed my sweet tooth. So no, to me not expensive. It’s dense nutrition, not junk. There’s so much goodness in that daily shake. It’s good for everyone. Kids, adults, pregnant, nursing, diabetic, old, young. Helped my daughters intestine issues and lowered my son-in-laws cholesterol. Comes in regular or vegan. Idk why anyone would NOT drink it.”
